‘All she does is look at me in a very peculiar way’

Another sleepless night led to a natural WBTB where I woke up shortly and fell asleep again to find myself in a lucid dream! I explored the dream scene and carried out some dream goals successfully. But this time, things really started to get ugly towards the end. Read on and let me know your thoughts on this!

I find myself somewhere outside in a busy city and realise I’m dreaming. I look at my hands, and I count six fingers. I rub my hands together to stabilise the dream a bit more, and I do one more reality check to be sure. I pinch my nose, and I can breathe through it. I’m lucid! I look around and see my boyfriend standing next to me. Wow, he looks so real! I wonder what it would feel like to kiss him, so I do. But he doesn’t want to kiss me back because we are in public, he says. Right… I walk away and do a little dance move to become more comfortable in my dream body. This is one of the simple tasks I set myself to stabilise the dream. It feels stable now, so I start to explore.

I’m walking down a busy street with loads of shops everywhere. On my left, I see a small cafe. I walk in and decide that I want to eat something. Instead of ordering something, I walk straight towards the kitchen. I want to try a cake, preferably a carrot cake. There’s a fridge, and I open it to find myself a big cake. I take out a slice and try it. It tastes yummy! It looks like a carrot cake, but it tastes like apple pie. Good either way! I walk back outside onto the street again and want to go someplace else. I try to open a door and want to use it as a portal, but it doesn’t lead anywhere… again… What is it that I can’t use doors as portals? Luckily, I now have another method in mind that might bring me somewhere else. I start to spin around with my destination in mind. But I don’t end up there. Instead, I end up at a busy street again, except it’s a different-looking street.

I walk around the new street and find an older couple. Maybe they can give me some advice. I ask them how I can change the scene or go someplace else. But they seem confused and look at me as if I’m crazy. I forgot what they said. I feel that I am slowly losing lucidity. I need to stabilise again. I look around and see my boyfriend again. I want to kiss him, but again, he refuses because ‘we are in public’. What does that even mean? Well, I guess I’m stuck on the busy street then. ‘What shall I do?’ I ask him. ‘Why don’t you go to the beach,’ he answers. ‘Oh yeah sure, a beach in the Himalayas,’ I say back in a sarcastic way. I then look around and realise that I’m surrounded by tall mountains. I’ve not even noticed that before, but apparently, my subconscious did. Well, I suppose I can visit Mount Everest. I start walking towards the end of the street but lose even more lucidity now.

I see some dream characters and try to engage with one. I approach an unfamiliar woman, but she doesn’t speak to me. All she does is look at me in a very peculiar way. Suddenly, I feel weird. And then, she throws a plastic bottle towards my head. I laugh as I take it as some kind of joke, and throw the bottle back to her. But she throws it again, now with more force. She is full-on attacking me right now. It creeps me out, and I want to get out of here. The dream has lasted a long time now, so I think it’s time to wake myself up. Luckily it doesn’t take much longer, and I wake up in my bed safe and sound.

That was certainly an odd experience. I wasn’t necessarily scared, but I felt very violated. It felt personal in some way. I’ve read other people’s stories about dream characters attacking them or kicking them out of the dream before. But I never really thought about it too much. What do you think it means? Have you ever experienced something of the sort? Let me know in the comments! Thanks again for reading.
